Ever Wonder What Prospects Are Searching For?The internet is a wonderful place to do marketing research, wouldn't you agree? If you get up early one morning, pour yourself a hot tea or cup of coffee, and sit down at the keyboard, you can find almost anything online. And that's the problem. If you're involved in network marketing, you know that you're always looking for prospects. If you want to use the internet for MLM lead generation, you have to put your site in the path of potential prospects. That requires thinking like a prospect and then taking action to create the little lead capture page for your mlm leads. Question #1: how many prospects are searching for the phrase "MLM"? Question #2: what are your target prospects REALLY searching for? The humongous search engine Yahoo has a tool called the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool. It shows you how many times a key phrase was searched last month, and possible related searches. For example, in August 2004 the term "MLM" was searched 51,533 times on Yahoo. But that's only part of the story. The term "MLM Lead" was searched almost 79,000 times. Networkers are starving for leads, aren't they? But the story gets even more interesting. Remember, in order to find prospects, you must think like a prospect. The term "work from home" was searched a staggering 322,288 times and "work at home" was 546,217. What does that tell you about what your prospects are really seeking? Get creative. What hurts your prospect? For example, the term "I hate my job" got nearly 1500 direct hits, and over 2000 with related searches. If you knew for a fact that over the next 15 years over 100 million North Americans and over 1 billion people in industrialized countries would hit retirement age, getting older, fatter, sicker and broker, how would you plan your market research and mlm lead generation? Go get yourself a cup of coffee, and start thinking like a prospect! |
